Aptitude preparation

Study like a candidate, not like a tourist.

Many military application systems use aptitude, psychometric, reasoning or entrance tests. The names differ by country, but the preparation principles are similar.

Aptitude test study preparation

Track the mistakes.

Scores improve when errors become data.

Core skill areas

  • Verbal reasoning and reading accuracy.
  • Numerical reasoning and basic math under time pressure.
  • Mechanical or spatial reasoning where relevant.
  • Pattern recognition and logic.
  • Attention, speed and calm execution.

The 4-step study loop

StepAction
1. DiagnoseTake a short mixed practice test and identify weak categories.
2. DrillPractice one weak skill at a time for short, focused blocks.
3. ReviewKeep an error log: question type, mistake reason and correction.
4. SimulateUse timed practice once technique improves.

What not to do

Do not spend all your time collecting practice material. Do not only practice what feels easy. Do not confuse long sessions with useful sessions. A candidate needs a system, not only effort.
